Darkness (Jaume Balagueró, 2002) / Los Sin Nombre (Jaume Balagueró, 1999) On the Origin

The Darkness of endearing Balaguero is a big fat nanar barely disguised as a pinnacle of sheer terror (the stage of cutting potatoes hysterical symbolizes all that well), who plunders awkwardly Shining having just the level of a bottom drawer of the Asian wave of "ghost movies". I know not what I had left a positive impression rather the first time I saw him (although I already felt a somewhat probing potential unintentionally comical), may be the only really good stuff fucking: work fairly huge on sound and shadows & Lights, and the idea of the table with three old (bigoudènes Tipiak of advertising without their caps?) Are really the only thing worrying. The father is ridiculous, unbearable mother, the kid interchangeable with any Mouflet Spielbergian child care, and a double young teen Jennifer Jason Leigh warm period JF sharing apartment ...

It is far below the Sect unnamed ( Los Sin Nombre / The Nameless ) that I reviewed in the process, despite its length and which remains one of the attempts most glaucous kind: the concept of "absolute evil" or "ultra-evil Satanic sub-100% Pure", which has always been the credo of very naive and endearing Jaume, there was much better (and more slyly) operated, and the atmosphere really left a bad smell behind it, long after the credits. Darkness as the whole bathed in a Series B occultism, with villains who once described their attire "pedophile ring / Nazi sect" would have strongly resembled those of Tintin, but something really disgusting it was up. we let himself be taken, we believed. If the conclusion of each films is concerned "sombritude" or "evilness", both of their respective generic, very similar in form but not in the effect they produce, reflect well the gulf that separates them: the brushed dangerously with The Nameless the tiresome cliche of generic 'fragmented flashes shock' (or FCF) remaining terribly unhealthy, that of Darkness plunges in with both feet.
